The Quiraing on The Isle of Skye

Price range: $39.00 through $3,149.00

On the seventh day of hiking through the Outer Hebrides, we ventured to the Trotternish
Peninsula on the Isle of Skye to explore the otherworldly landscape of the Quiraing. The
weather had turned against us—whipping winds, pelting rains, and a mist that clung low
over the ridges. Yet the drama of the storm only heightened the beauty of this wild
place.

From the trail, I captured this view of the jagged spires and sheer cliffs, including the
iconic “Needle” rising defiantly from the slopes. The scene felt timeless, as if untouched
by centuries, a reminder of the raw and rugged spirit of Scotland’s highlands. Even in
the storm, or perhaps because of it, the Quiraing revealed its most hauntingly beautiful
side.
