Sunset over Riva del Garda

After a 10-mile hike, tired legs carried me back to the ferry at Riva del Garda for the
ride across to Limone. I was weary, my feet sore, but I couldn’t resist leaning over the
side of the boat as the lake opened before me.

The sky was alive with color — shades of pink, orange, and violet spilling across the
clouds as the sun slipped lower. Those same clouds reflected in the rippling water, as if
the lake itself had caught fire with the day’s last light

Exhaustion gave way to quiet awe. Even at the end of a long day, Lake Garda had a
way of reminding me that beauty can make you forget the ache in your feet, if only for a
little while.
