Summer Day on the Lake Garda Jetty

From the southern end of Lake Garda, I set off on a city hike heading north, the sun
already blazing overhead. It was one of those hot, sweaty days where every step
seems to draw a little more energy out of you, yet the rhythm of the lake kept me
moving.

The path was alive with the sounds of families and friends soaking up their weekend.
Children splashed at the shore, laughter carrying over the water, while groups of friends
picnicked on the rocks, their voices blending with the gentle lapping of waves. Cyclists
zipped past, bells ringing cheerfully, and couples strolled hand in hand, stopping now
and then to take in the view.

The lake itself shimmered in layers of turquoise and deep blue, framed by the
silhouettes of mountains rising in the distance. The smell of sunscreen, grilled food, and
espresso from lakeside cafés hung in the air. Even in the heat and fatigue, there was a
joy in being part of that collective summer moment — a simple celebration of life along
the water’s edge.
