Silent Symphony

I had been crouched in the weeds and flowers for over an hour, waiting. The sun was
climbing higher, the heat pressing down, and my knees ached from staying low to the
ground. All morning, the Monarch butterflies had teased me — darting just out of reach,
never pausing long enough for me to capture the moment I was chasing. My goal was
simple: one clear, crisp photo of a Monarch in its element.
Just as I was about to give up, one butterfly settled gracefully on a cluster of Milkweed
blossoms near the edge of the path. I moved slowly, inching closer, holding my breath.

To my surprise, it stayed — wings fluttering gently as it drank nectar, framed perfectly by
the summer light.
