San Biagio’s Sanctuary

Price range: $39.00 through $3,149.00

Our wandering through Tuscany brought us next to Montepulciano, a hill town famed for
its wine and sweeping views. After strolling the steep cobbled streets and ducking in
and out of wine cellars, we paused to take in the scenery from the town walls.

Below us lay the Church of San Biagio, its Renaissance dome and golden stone
glowing softly against the rolling green of vineyards and olive groves. Cypress-lined
lanes traced the contours of the land, leading to scattered villas and farmhouses, each
seeming to rest timelessly in the Tuscan hills.

It was one of those moments where the beauty was almost overwhelming — where a
sip of Vino Nobile, the scent of the countryside, and the view itself all blended into
something unforgettable.
