Majestic Grandeur on the Grand Canal

This trip to Italy was extra special because my son and I were meeting in Venice before
heading to the Dolomites together. After my long flight, I took the boat from the airport
toward the city, tired but filled with anticipation. My plan was to capture Venice later,
once I had rested and reunited with him.

But just as the boat turned into the Grand Canal, this view unfolded before me — the
historic buildings glowing in the sun, the water shimmering with movement, and the
colors striking in every direction. I scrambled for my camera, nearly missing the moment
as the boat carried me forward. I clicked the shutter just in time, capturing my very first
impression of Venice. It felt like the perfect welcome to a long-awaited family holiday.
