For days on this Patagonia trip, I battled awful weather — heavy clouds, rain, and winds that made hiking exhausting. I had my hopes pinned on this trail in Torres del Paine, known as one of the top ten hikes in the world. I longed to see Lago Nordenskjöld shining in its turquoise beauty, but as the morning went on, I feared I might never get the chance.
Then, just as we stopped for lunch at the viewpoint, everything changed. The sky cleared, the sun broke through, and the glacial waters below lit up in a dazzling array of colors. I scrambled to set up my camera, knowing this break in the storm was a gift. At that exact moment, I captured the scene I had been waiting for — Patagonia revealed in all its glory.
