Hummingbird at Scarlet Flower

It was a hot midday chat with my neighbor, who has the most beautiful flower garden. Between her feeders and the abundance of blooms, the hummingbirds were everywhere—darting in for nectar and zipping off again in a flash. They hardly ever stay still, and with wings beating up to 80 times per second, they’re a real challenge to photograph. I crouched quietly and waited, and finally managed to freeze this magical moment as a hummingbird hovered gracefully over a vibrant flower.
