House Wren on Fence Rail

Early one morning in the backyard, this curious little Carolina Wren appeared, hopping along the railing as if inspecting every inch of its kingdom. Wrens are tiny but full of personality, and this one was no exception—tail cocked high, eyes sharp, and movements quick and deliberate. They’re known for their outsized voices, and sure enough, not long after this shot, the wren let out a bright, bold song that filled the yard.
