Guardians of the Grand Canal

After reuniting with my son in Venice, we sat down for lunch by the Grand Canal. I had
promised myself to take a break, to enjoy the meal without reaching for my camera. But
then, right in front of us, a sleek wooden boat glided past, looking so timeless and
elegant against the backdrop of the historic buildings.

My camera was packed away, and I worried I’d miss the chance. I scrambled to grab it
just in time, fumbling with the settings as the boat began to slip out of view. With one
quick click, I captured it before it disappeared around the bend. It turned into one of my
favorite shots of the day, a memory of both Venice and a simple family lunch.
