Circle of Ages – Callanish Standing Stones

After finishing a hike, I made time to visit the Callanish Standing Stones on the Isle of
Lewis. I had seen photos before, but being there in person felt entirely different. The
stones rose from the meadow like ancient guardians, each one weathered by centuries
of wind and rain.

The light was soft that day, shifting gently across the landscape, and I knew I had a
short window before it disappeared again. I moved carefully among the stones, waiting
for the right balance of light and shadow. When it finally aligned, I pressed the shutter —
capturing not just a scene, but a feeling of history stretching far beyond me.
